Dr. Annese was born and raised right here in Billerica, Massachusetts. He attended Austin Preparatory School in Reading, where he played on the varsity hockey team, before earning an academic scholarship to Tulane University in New Orleans. There, he graduated cum laude with dual majors in Neuroscience and Cell and Molecular Biology — all while helping the city rebuild in the years following Hurricane Katrina.
Dr. Annese went on to attend the prestigious Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University, where he finished in the top 10% of his class and was awarded the Compassionate Care honor. After graduating, he was awarded the MassPAT scholarship, which allowed him to provide dental care to underserved patients in Dorchester who otherwise couldn’t afford the care they deserved. After several years there and in local private practices, Dr. Annese purchased the Shirley office from a previous dentist, creating Nashoba Valley Dental.
Dr. Annese’s mission is simple: to provide customized, high-quality, honest dental care in a state-of-the-art setting with an amazing team. He completes more than ten times the continuing education required to maintain his license and is constantly bringing new technology into the office so patients can receive the best care possible. His current focus spans implantology — from single implants to All-on-4 and full arch implants — as well as veneers, smile makeovers, and sedation dentistry. He is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and is trained to provide both IV and oral conscious sedation for patients who feel anxious or fearful about visiting the dentist.
With thousands of implants placed and thousands of new, life-changing smiles delivered, Dr. Annese is frequently invited to lecture and train other doctors around the country on the techniques and standards he practices here at Nashoba Valley Dental — and doctors regularly travel to spend time in our office learning firsthand. He has a genuine passion for delivering the best possible care to his patients and for elevating the dental profession as a whole.
Outside the office, Dr. Annese is a devoted husband and father — coaching his son’s t-ball and hockey teams, cheering on his daughter at dance practice, keeping up with his youngest, and enjoying skiing, travel, and time with his family whenever he can.
